Peneliti dari University of Cincinnati menemukan, eksposur terhadap air mendidih menyebabkan botol plastik polikarbonat melepaskan BPA hingga 55 kali lebih cepat dari air dingin atau air bertemperatur normal.
Penemuan terbaru menunjukkan bahwa ada korelasi antara BPA dengan penurunan produksi *****a, penambahan berat prostat, dan kanker ****** pada laki-laki. Sementara pada perempuan, BPA berpotensi mengakibatkan ketidaknormalan perkembangan endometrium yang dapat menyebabkan infertilitas serta meningkatkan risiko terkena kanker payudara. Anak-anak, terutama bayi yang masih dalam kandungan dan bayi yang baru lahir, memiliki risiko yang paling besar terhadap bahan kimia tersebut. Hal ini disebabkan oleh ketidakseimbangan hormon yang dapat berdampak selama periode emas pertumbuhan anak, meskipun akibatnya tidak langsung tampak.
Why people choose glass
Glass is, essentially, the ultimate material. Clean and hygienic, glass does not retain any odours or stains, and is 100% recyclable.
They are quicker and easier to warm liquid in than a plastic bottle, as glass can act as a conductor of heat – however, they do need to be treated with respect to sudden large temperature changes (eg adding cold milk to a bottle directly out of a hot sterilising unit).
Most importantly of all however, there is no leaching of toxins - they are completely free of BPA and phthalates, or any other additive that is required for plastic.
Materials-(PES n PP)
BPA-free plastic bottles are now commonly available composed of two materials – PES and Polypropylene.
Of the two, the newer entry to baby bottle manufacturing, PES, is the superior in hardness, clarity, heat tolerance and longevity, however, expect to pay more for this plastic as the raw materials and processing are more expensive.
Polypropylene has been around for decades, is a tried and true plastic with excellent durability, and is a softer, cloudy plastic.
